No More Excuses Video

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

It’s easy to have our list of excuses for why we aren’t taking care of ourselves, especially in the area of fitness including things like:  I don’t have time or money or energy or I don’t feel good or my metabolism is slow or I have bad genetics or I’m tired or I don’t like to sweat or have bad knees or I’m too busy, blah, blah, blah….

And our excuse seems pretty good until we see someone like Matt Scott  who has a “No Excuse” mentality.  Then there’s a perspective change.  I love guys like this that don’t make excuses and just go for it.  Props to Matt (and Nike) for the example and wake up call.  Time to suck it up and go….

This will motivate you…

Posted by: Buck | Comments (0)

Whether you’ve seen this before or not, it’s worth taking a few minutes to watch.  A powerful story that gets me every time I watch it.   If you’re not inspired and motivated by this, I’m not sure what will.  And after watching it, hopefully you’ll think twice this week before feeling sorry for yourself and making any excuses as to why you can’t something.  So watch, be inspired and take some action!

How Bad Do You Want It?

Posted by: Buck | Comments (0)

When it comes to exercise, people usually do the bare minimum. Many come to the conclusion that the fact they’re exercising is good enough and they’re content with being mediocre.

The same goes for how people see themselves.

A lot of people limit their potential and rationalize why they can’t lose the weight that they want or can’t reach the fitness level they truly desire.

The usual statements are made…

“I’m older, so my metabolism is slower.”
“I have more responsibilities, so I don’t have time to exercise.”
“I don’t have the motivation and self-discipline I used to.”
“I have bad genetics and Read More→

Break one sweat per day…

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Pretty simple but yet pretty powerful.  It’s a great goal to have.  Break one sweat per day and help keep the fat away. And sweat as in physical exertion.  Not standing over the stove or sitting in the steam room/sauna or sunbathing but having the goal of breaking one sweat per day from exercise where you are actually challenging your body.  This is a great goal to have.  So set that for yourself and hold yourself accountable to it.

Ask yourself each day: “Did I break a sweat today?”  And if your answer is NO.  Get to moving!  Your health, body, and loved ones you will thank you for it…

*Funny Weight Loss Video

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Check out this great video from MAD TV.  It’s hilarious but so true at the same time.  Weight loss isn’t as complicated as we make it out to be.  You say you’ve tried everything, looked for the magic formula,  and will do anything but often can’t manage these 2 simple things which you’ve heard me say many times before: “Eat less, and move more!”   Try it and you’ll be much better off!

Need some motivation…

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Sometimes it’s easy to wallow in our own circumstances and think about how bad or tough we have it.  Not Anthony Robles.  Check him out.  He’s not making any excuses.  Just getting it done.  He’s a great example for us.  Learn from him.  What excuses do you have now?  Decide you’re going to make some changes today!

Ever feel like the couch has got a hold of you and you can’t get away.  Before you know it a few hours are gone and you’ve got nothing to show for it.  Here’s a great video from Reebok.

This would be a great excuse if it happened like this but it doesn’t.  So quit making excuses and wasting time, get off your butt, escape the sofa and burn some calories today.  Your body needs and deserves it!  It’s 2009, let’s go!

Well for those that like to make excuses about age not being on their side and their metabolism slowing down and not being able to be fit when you get “old,” take a look at Jim Morris who would say otherwise.  He’s an inspiration and has been bodybuilding for close to half a century and shows no signs of slowing down.  And while into his 70s, he still puts most of us to shame.

Does it come easy for him?  Heck no!  I can promise he didn’t get that way from spending a few minutes doing crunches or 8 minute abs or from just using something like the “Bender ball.”  He’s worked hard and been very disciplined for decades and it’s paid off.  But there was no magic pill that made it happen overnight. He’s actually still working at it – 6 days a week. He’s got no time for excuses.  His health is on the line.

So how bad do you want it? If you want to succeed long term, be prepared to work at it for the long haul. Jim Morris is a great example. Check out the vid and be inspired and quit making excuses :)

**Today’s Real Heroes

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Whether you’ve seen this or not, this video is worth a few minutes of your time.  The Today Show did a special awhile back called Today’s Real Heroes on father and son, Dick and Rick Hoyt. It shows the sacrifice a father will endure because of his deep love for his son.  That’s a lesson in and of itself.  But if it doesn’t inspire, motivate, and/or move you (even to point of tears), I’m not sure what will.

“Feed the Warrior”

Funny commercial Lance Armstrong style.  Gotta be mentally disciplined/tough:

Pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever.
Feed the Warrior inside.
You feed the warrior by training the body to respond to the mind.
Light cardio?  Kill the coward within!
